Sherry Krehbiel
Sherry Krehbiel is a teacher, parent, and grandparent who’s been telling and writing stories for years. A longtime facilitator of the Montessori approach, she creates hands-on lessons often paired with children’s books to spark curiosity, kindness, and a love of learning.
Her work includes First Comes A Butterfly (October 2024) and Ezra’s Valentines—stories that have been shared in classrooms and cozy living rooms alike. Sherry believes stories can grow patience, wonder, and care for the natural world.

Will my book and FlutterFlyers arrive together?
The book and FlutterFlyers ship separately. Sherry Krehbiel personally ships each copy of
First Comes a Butterfly from her home in Kansas, while FlutterFlyers are shipped directly
from our warehouse. You’ll receive two tracking numbers — one for the book, one for the butterflies.
Both usually arrive within just a few days of each other.
How do the FlutterFlyers connect to the story?
In First Comes a Butterfly, Isla follows a monarch through its incredible life cycle.
The FlutterFlyers bring that same magic to life — they’re a playful, real-world way to experience transformation.
When you wind them up and watch them take flight, you’re seeing the story come alive!
How do I use the FlutterFlyers?
Simply twist the butterfly’s elastic band 25–30 times, then tuck it into a card, book, or envelope.
When opened, it flutters out in a burst of color and motion. Each one is reusable — just rewind and fly again!
