FLUTTER FLYERS AND MONARCH BUTTERFLY FUND
OVER A DECADE OF SUPPORTING REFORESTATION
For the past 10 years, The Monarch Butterfly Fund (MBF) has funded projects in Mexico that range from reforestation and natural regeneration to workshops for local communities in sustainable practices. The work they support contributes to the conservation of monarchs, the forests where they overwinter, and their remarkable migration.
HABITAT CONSERVATION, OUTREACH AND MONITORING
Donations from FlutterFlyers.com helps to support their strategic initiatives of habitat conservation, scientific research and monitoring, outreach and education, and sustainable development. During 2020, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, they supported the reforestation of 23.6 hectares on the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve with 21,040 trees! They funded environmental lessons for schoolchildren, two documentaries about monarchs, and monarch population and forest monitoring.
BREEDING PROGRAMS
The Monarch Butterfly Fund works with Monarch Joint Venture (www.monarchjointventure.org) to increase breeding and migratory habitat in the U.S. You can visit their website (monarchconservations.com) to read more about their work and enjoy our recent newsletters.
